Lester J. Soo
I was born and educated here in beautiful Vancouver. I grew up in Kits and graduated from UBC’s Faculty of Music. I’ve been a licensed Associate Broker since 1988. I’m passionate about real estate and helping people find their dream homes, no matter how small or large.
I have been sharing my love of music since high school; I perform on the piano at various hospitals and senior homes. I’m a patron of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and over the years I have donated financially and musically to various charities. Giving back to the community that I grew up in gives me immense joy. I embrace life to the fullest with my passions for music, culinary arts, tennis and bringing people together.
I’m blessed to be on the perfect team with Henry and Arleen! I look forward to helping you achieve your real estate dreams!

I grew up in Hong Kong and moved to Victoria in my teens. I did my first B.A. double major in Psychology and Sociology and my second degree in Economics all at UVic. I moved to Vancouver over thirty years ago and can’t imagine living anywhere else.
Real estate is the only career I have given my full focus to; I have been licensed for over 28 years and counting. I met Lester and our complementary work styles and personalities became evident, so we started our partnership in 1992 and have been going strong for 26 years now. I met Arleen at the office in 2010 and she started doing our open houses for us; we soon decided she would be a great fit with Lester and I so we invited her to join our team. The rest, as they say, is history.

When I was 5, my family moved from Taiwan to Vancouver. I attended Trafalgar and Magee and went on to do my Bachelors at Smith College and Masters at the University of Edinburgh. No matter where I moved to for family reasons or for educational opportunities, the magnetic pull of Vancouver was always there. On and off I've lived here for 20 years - it's home and it's where I met the love of my life, and together we raise our little Mudi in Mount Pleasant.
To me, being a real estate agent is about helping people realize their goals. I'm not interested in selling you a home just to make a commission. It really is about the people and ensuring I match them with the right home. No buyer/seller is alike, so let's get to know each other and figure out what your specific needs and criteria are; both our times are valuable, so let's not waste it missing the mark.
I've been in the business for almost a decade and have had the pleasure of working with Henry and Lester since my second year in the business. We are all hands on deck; when you call us, you won't reach an assistant or an office manager - it's just the three of us. We do all our own showings and open houses. No offense intended when I say this, but we also have a no-lockbox policy on our listings. We believe in being present for all showings so we can answer any questions buyers/agents may have, but also to provide invaluable feedback to our sellers. If you might require client services provided in a language other than English, we can assist in Cantonese (Henry), Mandarin (me) and Taiwanese (me).
Every year, a portion of my sales proceeds go to organizations that matter a great deal to me personally.
Over the years, the organizations I support include:
- Smith College
- Canadian Cancer Society (BC & Yukon)
- BC Children's Hospital
- Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières)
- Out in Schools
- BC Cancer Foundation
- Breakfast Club of Canada
- Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life
